​Christine "Chrissi" L. Villa is a gifted poet. Her passion for haiku and tanka writing has resulted in the publication of her work in some of the most renowned online and print journals worldwide, has garnered her several awards, and has seen her bring out her debut full-length collection of Japanese short-form poetry entitled The Bluebird’s Cry. She is the founding editor of Frameless Sky—the very first haiku and tanka journal available on DVD that is a collaboration of art, poetry, and music.

Chrissi is also the founder of Purple Cotton Candy Arts. As a graduate of one of the courses offered by the Institute of Children’s Literature, “Writing for Children and Teenagers (2010),” she has been inspired to write for children and pursue her dream of publishing. She has published eleven  children’s book titles since 2014, three of which won awards in the Northern California Publishers and Authors (NCPA) Book Award Competition 2018, 2019, 2020.

​Shloka Shankar is a freelance writer, editor, singer, and visual artist from Bangalore, India. She loves experimenting with all forms of the written word and has happily found her niche in Japanese short-forms and remixed poetry alike. A Best of the Net nominee, her poems and artwork have appeared in over 200 online and print venues, including a few dozen anthologies. She co-edited naad anunaad: an anthology of contemporary world haiku (Vishwakarma Publications) in 2016. Shloka is the founding editor of Sonic Boom, its affiliated press ​Yavanika, and one of the assistant editors of Human/Kind Journal. She is also the editor of Purple Cotton Candy Arts.
